One of its primary goals is to give back to the community through various initiatives, ranging from environmental projects to supporting local causes. The VBA also focuses on getting young people involved in the sport, organizing events that not only showcase the excitement of bowfishing but also provide educational opportunities for youth. Family fun is at the heart of the association, with events and activities designed to bring generations together, creating a welcoming space for families to bond over their shared love for bowfishing.

Bowfishing is our passion

I've been bowfishing for 6 years. Originally from Louisa, VA, I'm part of the Buckshot Bowfishing team. My favorite fish to shoot is the common carp. I'm married to Erinn Horne, and we have two kids—a girl and a boy. What I love most about the sport is fishing alongside friends and family. There's nothing quite like cruising into a cove with a boat full of friends and witnessing the spectacle of carp spawning.
STEVEN DOMINICK
I'm from Fredericksburg, VA, with a decade of experience under the belt. Proudly representing Buckshot Bowfishing, my favorite species to go after are common carp. I'm happily married to my wife Kasi, and we have two wonderful kids, Grayson and Evie. My favorite part of bowfishing is the thrill of shooting fish in the face alongside my closest companion and mentor, Logan Horne.
Josh Bailey
I'm from Waldorf, Maryland and bowfishing has been my passion for around 5 years now. I shoot with Team Fishin Arrowfliction and my favorite species to target are Northern snakehead. I've been happily married for 21 years, and my wife and I are blessed with a 10-year-old son. What truly captivates me about the sport is the opportunity to create lasting memories, bringing friends and family together on the water to witness the unseen.

I've been bowfishing for 14 years, originally hailing from Blacksburg, VA, and later relocating to Louisa VA in 2017. I'm part of the team "Reckless Discharge," and my favorite species to shoot is the Common Carp. In the family department, I'm married to Becca and have 3 boys and 2 girls. What I cherish most about the sport is the quality time spent on the water with family and friends, the joy of playing music, the thrill of exploring new locations, and the challenge of seeking out the biggest fish out there.

I got into bowfishing back in '99 when I was 11, teaming up with my dad. We kept it simple with DIY spotlights on our bows powered by homemade deep cycle batteries. Originally from Williamsport, PA, I grew up in Blackstone, VA, from age 7. Our bowfishing crew rolls as Braindrain Bowfishing, a throwback to the '80s slang for headshots from my dad's era. When it comes to favorite fish to shoot, there's nothing like taking down a hefty common. I'm happily married with 2 boys, aged 11 and 6. The best part of bowfishing is the community and fellowship.
